    Nice summary, with much more steak than sizzle. :)

    Disappointed but not surprised to hear that Omniture is continuing the same old up-sell game from Discover to Insight. It was nice to hear though that they are finally getting around to fixing the basic SC product and achieving parity with the other solutions out there.

    Jason,

    I can appreciate your frustration, although I honestly didn’t feel like any of the Insight conversations I heard were aggressive upsell attempts. I think the key thing to keep in mind is that there are simply some things that Insight does extremely well (in particular, multichannel analytics). It’s important to recognize the distinction between “upsell” and merely talking about a tool’s strengths. Insight is a new tool to many Summit attendees; obviously, we can’t just not talk about a tool that may provide significant value to many simply because it has powerful features and a price tag.

    Thanks,

    @Jason,

    I also did not hear anyone at Summit try and “upsell” any of the offerings. There were many, many conversations about the strengths and weaknesses of various tools.

    I really appreciate the recap–I missed the summit this year, so I was glad to hear what you felt were the highlights (and gaps) in the presentations!

    Thx for recap. I did not attend this one but have attended before. Not sure if this is the best forum but, is there a list of things that u heard that people were looking for in the products. We use Insight and i am mainly interested in that but other product ‘gaps’ would also be good.

    thx

    Point of clarification…I have been told by Omniture that DigitalPulse is now officially available so I apologize that my comment on the podcast did not reflect this. You can learn more about the product here: http://www.omniture.com/en/products/online_analytics/digitalpulse

    Great recap and a great summit this year. I could not agree more for the desire to extend SiteCatalyst to encompass more instant segmentation functionality. Lots of up-selling but can’t blame them. How does Digital Pulse compare to ObservePoint?
